Ben founded Layer 02 after spending the early part of his career at some of the world's leading architecture practices, designing Michelin starred restaurants, luxury hotels, private members clubs, and high profile developments across the UK and internationally. His portfolio includes projects for the Rosewood Hotel, The Ritz Carlton, and Orla by Omniyat in Dubai during his time at Foster + Partners.

While working in luxury hospitality, Ben recognised an opportunity to bring the same level of strategic design thinking to smaller businesses. He founded Layer 02 with the belief that great design should not be reserved for global brands and five star hotels.

He started where his roots were: Asian restaurants. Time and again, he met hardworking owners serving incredible food, building loyal communities, and creating rich cultural experiences, yet operating from spaces that didn't always reflect the quality of what they offered. Ben saw design as a way to bridge that gap, helping businesses better communicate their story, attract new customers, and realise their full potential.
