Chilli Padi is at an exciting point in its brand expansion, with plans to open a new flagship location in Central London. This large flagship restaurant aims to redefine fast-casual dining, with a strong emphasis on design quality and operational performance. The exact location announcement is forthcoming.
Our coordination encompassed the full scope of design, planning, procurement and construction, all delivered within an ambitious timeline. Seamless collaboration across consultants, suppliers and contractors ensured the project progressed efficiently.
The 3,000 square foot project required the coordination of many small components. For this client, cost-effectiveness was a concern, and as such, we participated in various value engineering processes in order to help the client achieve the most economical design with the best results.
This site required us to coordinate with multiple parties. Transport for London acted as landlord, while the London Legacy Development Corporation oversaw planning and regeneration within the Olympic Park. As the site's first tenancy, the project demanded additional scrutiny during the approval process. The planning stage involved detailed negotiation to secure the necessary Licence to Alter, ensuring the proposals aligned with both landlord requirements and the wider regeneration framework.
The scale of the kitchen required enhanced ventilation and additional planning approvals in order to remain compliant with acoustics and odour targets. The area’s heating system also needed to be fully integrated into the site’s infrastructure.
The decision was also made to revise the door swing orientation allowed under the building regulations, in order to increase the building's capacity and allow more customers to be seated safely at one time. This required fast coordination across multiple parties in order to successfully secure approval for the alteration.
These elements demanded swift coordination across multiple stakeholders to secure planning approval and maintain the project's momentum.
The interior reflects the brand’s vibrant identity, combining contemporary urban elements with warm, textural finishes. Retro Malaysian design, culturally significant tiles, dark wood, and soft lighting all create a space that fuses cultural authenticity with the practical demands of modern hospitality.
This project marks Chilli Padi’s entry into the competitive London food scene. It merges bold cuisine with a thoughtfully curated dining environment, designed to drive the brand's next phase of growth. This project showcases our ability to meet strict time constraints, coordinate multiple stakeholders, and run a project from conception.
